The Darts Themselves

These are the bad boys ; Hi Tec "The Vice" 27g. They’re 85% tungsten with a "shark cut" grip. At the time of writing they cost £9 per set from Tommys Darts international. Being "shark cut" they are not very durable, but I feel it’s worth replacing them regularly to gain the benefit of such a great grip.
In the past my favoured dart was the Alan Glazier Sharks 26g, and I still have a good set of these darts which I can fall back upon if my 3 sets of Hi Tecs go missing :o)
The Glaziers aren’t bad at all, but they’re twice the price and seem to be not as durable as the Hi Tecs due to their shallow shark cut.

Those are some really nice looking darts. I have a hard time throwing with anything that heavy myself, but from your Ton-80 they seem to work out just nicely for you. What does "The Chelmsford" mean? Is that your dart nickname?

The Chelmsford is the name of the pub, and I've got some really good pictures to follow very shortly. The pub nickname is "The Knack", but nobody can give me a plausible reason why.

Like you I've tried several weights, and 27g seems to suit me best. I can throw fairly well with 26g and 29g too, but these ones seem to be ideal.

hi tommo
what flights do you use
and where do you buy them from ?
from the pictures they look to be spread out very evenly
im having trouble getting my flights to spread out evenly.
thanks

Kenny - sorry this reply is so late. I just noticed it while going though the pages. The flights were the very simple "poly plains" from Tommy's Darts. I've since moved onto heavier flights because they last so much longer - the Ruthless Xtra Strong Poly types
